THERESA & HEATHERThe Welder Chic was established in 2004 by Theresa Siochowicz, a journeyman welder and artist, to provide a customer-oriented metal fabrication service on Vancouver Island. With a commitment to service and quality, The Welder Chic soon made its mark in the business community and Theresa was recognized in the 2008 edition of New Pioneers: Stories of 100 BC Woman Entrepreneurs. After 5 years of building a very satisfied customer base, The Welder Chic found itself preparing for expansion in not only volume but by bringing on a partner that held similar values and complementary skills. Upon meeting Heather Greenway, Theresa knew she had the answer and new partner needed for this upward growth. Heather, who is also journeyman welder with a strong background in working with stainless steel, was the exact fit for The Welder Chic. She has worked with the BC Construction Association in the STEP Program placing women into trade positions within the industry. Heather always dreamed of pursuing her trade and owning her own business, so partnering with Theresa presented the company with the ideal scenario to expand the variety and creativity of artistic choices available to customers, while providing continuous value. The Welder Chic now offers Women’s Welding Workshops, which introduce women to the trade by teaching them the basics of welding in a fun and instructive environment. Theresa and Heather are both very experienced in working with various metal mediums. Visit their website to view some examples of their exceptional creations... “If it can be welded, we can do it”.
